ICCA Global Care Centers

How We Treat Cancer

When it comes to cancer treatment, we take the neoadjuvant approach. We at ICCA Global have developed a comprehensive treatment program called FivePOINTS Cancer Careā„¢, which is a custom-tailored treatment approach that employs the most clinically advanced and proven therapies available worldwide.

The standard treatment in most cancer centers and hospitals in the US are based on the NCCN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network) guidelines, which determine a protocol based on the stage and type of cancer, leaving no room for personalization. However, ICCA Global being a truly integrative center, is not limited by the NCCN guidelines, which enables us to personalize cutting-edge alternative therapies with a higher potential of helping you progress towards healing.

Neoadjuvant Therapy vs Adjuvant Therapy

Neoadjuvant therapy encompasses all treatments that are administered before the primary cancer treatment, such as chemotherapy, surgery or radiation to help reduce the size of a tumor or kill cancer cells that have spread. Adjuvant therapy encompasses treatments delivered after the primary treatment, to destroy remaining cancer cells.

Comprehensive Patient Diagnostics with Customized Strategic Planning

Upon arrival, the patient undergoes a real-time PET/CT scan to compensate for the inherent shortcomings of a CT scan, which is unable to detect possible metastatic cancer at the critical molecular level.

A common FAQ we get asked is, why did my insurance company deny my PET scan?Ā

What is Metastatic Cancer?

When cancer spreads to another part of the body, it is called metastasis. Cancer cells break away from where they began (the primary tumor) and travel through the lymph system or blood.

  • Lymph system: The cancer gets into the lymph system, travels through the lymph vessels, and forms a tumor (metastatic tumor) in another part of the body.
  • Blood: The cancer gets into the blood, travels through the blood vessels, and forms a tumor (metastatic tumor) in another part of the body.

Complete Medical Examination

  1. We conduct a comprehensive laboratory examination, which includes selected tumor markers.
  2. We perform an aspirated biopsy if deemed necessary.
  3. Intratumoral Immunotherapy (also known as tumor-targeted immunotherapy).
  4. We use off-label medications to enhance the overall immunotherapy, which involves repurposing medications used to treat other conditions to bolster the immune response.
  5. We address potential leaky gut syndrome to improve the microbiome and maximize the potential of immunotherapy.
  6. We target hypoxic tumors to achieve global control of immunosuppression, treatment resistance, tumor growth, and increased metastasis.
  7. To achieve maximum treatment benefit, we “heat up” or “prime” tumors by injecting specific immune agents directly into the tumor to attract immune cells to cancer, which is crucial for systemic immunotherapy to be effective.
  8. We use Autologous Dendritic Cell Vaccine to prevent cancer cells from spreading (metastasizing) to surrounding tissues or organs, and to stimulate the immune system to recognize and fight invading cancer cells.
  9. We complement natural healing by conducting systemic detoxification to remove harmful metals and minerals that have built up from external pollutants.

Toxic-Free Therapies

Our toxic-free therapies are designed to target cancer cells while keeping vital tissues and organs healthy. These treatments work to strengthen the body and complement other principles, rather than compromise the immune system and create debilitating side effects.

We use advanced testing to predict and target immunotherapeutic escape mechanisms. Specific immunotherapies are designed to upregulate receptors to allow for escape, and we also use immunotherapeutic targets to adjust and adapt therapy. This means that some combination of agents that work well in some cases can still be modified to achieve maximum effectiveness.

Short-course Targeted Radiation

We use a chemo-sensitizing agent in very small doses to significantly increase overall biological efficacy. We conduct fewer than 10 very short fractions (treatment sessions) to avoid causing significant damage to surrounding tissues or organs.

Thermal Tumor Ablation

Microwave ablation is a new technology that destroys many different cancer tumors using heat generated by microwave energy. Cryoablation is a minimally invasive method that destroys cancer cells using extreme cold temperatures. The surgeon inserts a small laparoscopic port or open incision to access the tumor, and a CT scan or ultrasonic guidance is used to pinpoint the exact location of the tumor. The probe produces intense heat (microwave ablation) or extreme cold (cryoablation) ablates (destroys) tumor tissue, often within 10 minutes. Learn more atĀ tumorablations.com.

Regenerative and Restorative Medicine

Our goal is to replace, restore, or revitalize cellular tissues or organs that have been compromised or damaged by cancer or from collateral damage while undergoing cancer therapy at conventional cancer centers.

Our targeted treatments, including infiltration and cell therapy, are designed to minimize your cancer-related pain, and our holistic approach to palliative care prioritizes your physical and emotional wellbeing.

Nutritional and Supplemental Counseling

Precision nutrition and lifestyle guidance using blood-derived mass spectrometry. Blood-derived mass spectrometry is an emerging technology that holds promise to inform the practice of precision medicine. It involves the comprehensive analysis of metabolites in a biological specimen and allows for the creation of individual patient metabolomic signatures.
